I know tons of parents that ban Disney because the characters talk back and use adult sarcasm, confront dating and relationships when they are still in Elementary school, etc.

I personally don't allow the news, including CNN, because they feel it's necessary to go into very graphic details of crimes they cover. The news promotes paranoia and a general feeling that we're unsafe and everyone is out to get us. I believe this started when they began competing for ratings with E Channel and Entertainment Tonight.

It’s getting worse and worse everyday. I bet by the time I have kids TV will not be allowed in my house…unless it’s CNN or the Disney channel but who knows, that could bring about another set of issues.

As for the net…I don’t even want to think about it.

Maybe that is another reason why (as we discussed on yesterday’s post) parents don’t like to say no to their kids.

Simply, they don’t want to be uncool. It is like the worst thing you can think of when you are young.
