Fight About “Becky”

When I asked a teenager what started a recent vicious girl-fight at the high school, she said one girl called another girl “Becky.”

She didn’t want to tell me why it was bad to be called Becky.

So I Googled it and up came these lovely lyrics by Plie.

My first thought was this: What did this dickhead do to deserve Becky?

I am speechless and hoping I can stop time so my daughters don’t have to deal with this.

NO ONE GIVE HIM BECKY EVER, EVER AGAIN!!

I’m not sure how to get all girls and women on board, but its the most effective thing I can think of.

My instincts tell me we should go back to the thinking where we traded sex, and all forms of Becky, for Respect, Commitment and appropriate Behavior. This putting out for free just isn’t working out in our favor.
