[...] What happens when parents and educators overlook this “girl culture” problem? It’s escalating into real physical violence in junior high and high schools at a rate outnumbering boys’ fist fights. Read more in Girl Fight. [...]

I know - why no comments.

Maybe people don't know what to say?

I think it's still possible. We need to teach kids how to deal with and react to anger.

We need to take mean girl behavior very, very seriously. A huge part of the problem, I think, is that we're saying, "Oh girls do that," rather than providing an better communication alternative.

I've found Ho'oponopono to be very helpful in our neighborhood - a practice of ALL girls involved saying, "I'm sorry, I forgive you, please forgive me, I love you."

i just landed on this post while brwsing and I am shocked there are NO comments. I hate that girls are physically fighting more and more. I hate that parents defend bad behavior in their kids. I hate that parents are eager to fight over silly children arguments. I see this in my own neighborhood. Is it that parents are so stressed in dealing with jobs and $ because they try to "keep up with the Jones" and have more than they can afford AND then the home is stressed and the kids get stressed and when they face difficulties in the world they react immediately with anger. I've always hoped that the common sense and peaceful nature of women could solve the ills of the world as more women assumed leadership roles. I'm beginning to think this is not possible any more and it makes me f--king SAD!
