They are safe and the modern day products give very realistic results. Just make sure you always exfoliate before application and moisturize the days after. You just spray it on, no touching. It's a pretty subtle difference. I also tried the Jergens lotion, but it's so slow and is turning my palms orange in spots. I'll put washables in her for fun, but no permanent color. To high maintenance. Luckily, she's not asking about tans or body hair yet. I don't see a problem with self tanning, though, I do it!
