Link Sluts. Really?

I just saw this in “professional” marketing material for an upcoming book directed to women who want to work at home.

“BTW, we’re sluts for links so if you have a spot on your web site or blog, please feel free to send us a little link-love.”

REALLY? You’re using “SLUTS” in marketing material? Maybe you should leave the word in junior high and porn. Especially if the primary target is women who have children (you know, likedaughters.). You think this is hip? Try offensive to your target audience.

Sluts – we didn’t like it when we were in junior high – what makes you think we’ve grown to love it?

I absolutely agree. What an ugly word, what an unfortunate perspective.
