As a teenage girl myself, I think that you have written a completely biased and sterotypical account of your interaction with less-than-a-fraction of the teenage girl population. Let me give you some pointers;
Not all girls like Twilight. I like it, but I don’t like it because of how hot Jacob is, or how Edward would do anything for Bella, I think of the… Actually, I hate Twilight. I’m more interested in moral value in my reading material, thank you very much. But some girls DO like the Twilight saga because of the romanticism aspect of it. They just need a little insight on what being a teen actually entails. Sure, we like to giggle, it’s loads of fun and releases healthy hormones like oxytocin. And love is practically everywhere.
Not all girls are pretty.
Not all girls are desperate to fall in love before they’re twenty.
Not all girls are stupid, pink specimens.
Not all girls like guys.

I actually love the books, just not the movies. I wouln’t be like bella I just love the stories. I’m really into vampire books and what not.
The thing is-
I love edward hate robert
I hate jacob and love taylor

and yes, bella is a moron. But I still LOVE the books.

Such a great post! Sounds like there IS hope for girls, despite everything being marketed to them that tells them the most important things are looking hot and getting a guy.

The points you make in this post were echoed in a discussion on twitter last night about Domestic Violence.
