I feel wholeheartedly this struggle, it is so real, and unfortunatley a big focus in my life. The sad thing is, that I can be where the author is at; accepting of others, but not of myself. Seeing full bodied women, especially when they celebrate their bodies with cool outfits makes me happy and hopeful, but when I gain a few pounds, and feel my outer shell swishing and squisshing I go nuts. My level of embarassement may go so far as not to allow me to leave the house. I am obviously in the throws of Body Image issues, but am thankful for these dialogues of the issue.

Talking with women about this makes me realize, sadly I am not the only one. Making women support efforts becomes more special and more powerful than the 'fake reality' of the media.

Lets create more action!

I understood the individual sentiments as I read them, but walked away from reading the article with the deeply uncomfortable and nagging question "Will I ever just be?" As in, will I ever just be OK or at least at peace?

I protect my daughter as best I can from unhealthy body imagry, and I try not to pass on my own insecurities. It's so complicated!
