I was surprised to read that also. I really like her and appreciate that she is curvy and celebrated for being so, but it is also one of those examples of how our image of what is healthy and normal gets distorted by the media.

America has said in several articles she is a size 8. Earlier this year, she donated her dress from a red carpet event to charity and it was size 6. True story.

6/8? Wow, I would have thought she was much heavier due to all the other articles I’ve read about her body-size. At least a 12. But, I guess since Hollywood is married to the Zero-Anorexia 6-8 probably seems much larger than it is in reality. That’s certainly not plus-sized!

I like Ugly Betty. It’s fun because the characters are all so over the top.

So glad this wasn’t an article on how America Ferrera’s a positive plus-size role model. She’s a freakin size 6/8.
