Anna, I too posted that quote on my bathroom mirror when I was losing weight. To remind myself to be kind to myself anyway. To remind myself not to self-deprecate as I tried to change some unhealthful habits.

I'm thrilled to hear about your new princess strategy.

Christina - I always pray there are mothers out there who are raising boys in a strong confident way. The type of boys that I hope my daughter will want to be married to. The type of boys that will see her as a human being instead of an object.

I know there are because I have friends like Jenn, Christi, Jennifer, Lisa, Karyn - women I personally know are raising good husbands and fathers. I'm trying to do that with Zack.

I'm thrilled to hear you're out there too. I hope there are millions more just like you!

Yaya and 'that girl' summed it up for me... I've refused to buy princess paraphernalia since I read your post on it (not banning it, but will definitely be talking about it) and have posted Naomi Wolf's quote that I found here in my bedroom.

Hello Tracee! :)

I've been a follower of yours since the ‘5 Minutes for Mom’ blog party. I’m the (single) mama of two boys, so raising a confident ‘daughter’ isn’t an issue for me. LOL I am however, a woman who gets very tired of being ‘labeled’ in one form or another and refuses to be limited by my gender or marital status! My confidence does radiate in my sons and I pray that will enable them to show respect for the women in their lives! Someday, I hope to have daughter-in-laws and perhaps granddaughters that will also be positively affected by what my sons and I learn and practice now. In the meantime, I baby-sit a beautiful little girl with Downs that glows with self-confidence and it is a wonderful thing! I don't often leave you a comment because frankly, I'm always left speechless – but informed! Your topics and outlook are intriguing and thought provoking. When it comes to your content dear - you rock! As far as your makeover, I’d try to go with something feminine, yet very powerful! Something that says, I'm woman, I've got something important to say - - HEAR ME ROAR!!!

Best Wishes for a fantastic new makeover – you deserve it!
Christina
